I like to drink brewed coffee on occasion, but it would take me nearly ten years to get through a pound of coffee. I’d just buy the pound, but I can’t stand the waste and I know it would go stale before I could use even near to half of it.
Actually, I suppose most packages I was looking at were like twelve ounces, roundabouts, 400 grams maybe, but still that’s a lot of coffee for me.

If I keep coffee in airtight jars with lids and they’re sealed up tight, and away from light/heat/extreme coldness, how long will the coffee stay fresh for? Months? Weeks? Years?

What sized scoop should I use just to make regular strength in a drip coffee maker.

I am curious because we usually buy the already ground stuff. If it is better to grind it myself then maybe I should do that?

Everyone that I know stores their coffee, in the tin it came in, in the refridgerator. Is this the best way for fresher coffee that lasts longer??

at the store i noticed that the coffee grinds has many different settings- how do all these different coffee makers work? i understand the one which uses a one-way valve to pomp coffee up a vertical tube so the hot water then drips onto the coffee grounds but that is The only one i know. Thanks.
but how do these different machines work? how can coffee be made other then dripping water over the grounds ?
